Zion Baptist of Welcome Maryland

The Deacons Ministry assists the Pastor in carrying out the programs of the Church. A Deacon's duties and responsibilities:

to ensure that the Lord's Supper is served in a reverent manner
to ensure that the baptismal pool is ready and that candidates for baptism are prepared for the baptism ceremony
to visit the sick and those in trouble
to know at all times the condition of the Church, spiritually, financially and temporally
to keep a watchful eye over auxilaries and groups; when assistance is needed, bring it to the Pastor's attention if necessary
to superintend the operation of the Church when the Pastor is absent, or when the pulpit is vacant
to ensure that the Pastor is paid a salary that is fair to the Pastor and the Church alike
to attend all meetings of the ministry
to be active participants in Bible Study, Sunday School and Prayer Meetings
to receive and prepare recommendations for consideration by the Church
